The artwork is part of the collection of works made with paper and wood, where wood represents craftsmanship, a solid base on which art rests. The latter, however, is represented by paper, beautiful but delicate and easily deformable. The wood used is osb, the same one used on construction sites.
Single Queen Quack is the center of a collection of audiographies relating to the sounds of creation: noises, music, singing, birdsong.
The work initially almost completely encompassed forex printing. It was subsequently modified as in the photo.
The paper was fixed to the wood with very obvious construction nails. One of the nails on the top does not respect the axis of the arrangement of the others, underlining that the work was not carried out by a machine. The marks of the builder's pencil useful for positioning the elements on the surface are still present on the wood.
In the center is the transcription (audiography) of the sound of a queen bee calling the worker bees to swarm, symbol of the creatures that are solicited to be actors in History.
The transcribed audio is a section of that published in the magazine Nature, relating to a scientific study entitled "The Prediction of swarming in honeybee colonies using vibrational spectra", by Ramsey, Bencsik, Newton.
The transcription of the artwork is made by MWS - Musical Writing System®, an algorithm from a patented system.
