The paper band is the heart of this work. Printed on it is the transcription (Audiography) of the sound produced by the Consecrated Host while it is broken on the altar of the Church of the Sacred Heart in Padua, exactly on Sunday 16 October 2022, at 10:49:21 am.
What is represented is therefore the sound of the Body of Christ heard by the entire Assembly, we could perhaps say the voice of Christ who that day, in that moment spoke in the Assembly and with the Assembly.
The audiography was obtained by encoding the sound in textual form using the algorithm of one of my industrial patents relating to the telephone sharing of scientific data, the MWS - Musical Writing System®.
The crucifix is made up of two transverse blocks of mahogany wood held together by a
half-lap joint. The blocks were flattened and worked by hand with saw and chisel. The
marks of the tools were deliberately left visible to underline the importance that craftsmanship plays in the preparation of an artwork. The wood was finally treated with various layers of varnish specially made with shellac, applied with a pad, until a shiny and antique effect was obtained.
